Tours at the Museum are available in many shapes and
sizes. From self-guided to staff-led, from digital to docent-led, the Museum
designs tours for all visitors. From school groups, to civic organizations,
to entire busloads of visitors, the Museum will design the tour of your choice.
Depending on your needs, tours will vary in length of time, scope and content.
If you are a visitor on a weekend, consider a free 1:00 p.m. Weekends
at One docent-led tour. An audio guide, rented in the museum shop,
lets you choose your own tour path through the permanent collection. Guided
tours are available for groups of all ages. Studio Lesson and ARTWORKS Gallery
components are also available. Large-type labels, wheelchairs, listening
devices, and touching tours are used to serve visitors varying needs.
The Museum publishes a brochure with detailed descriptions of tour types,
studio offerings, fees, and other valuable information. Three weeks advance
notice is needed to schedule guided tours, so please have several dates and
times in mind before you request your tour. Call the Tour Coordinator at
the Museum (334) 244-5700 or e-mail
tours@mmfa.org to request a brochure
or to schedule a tour. |
